Substance Abuse Awareness Box - Rachel's Rainbow (swatches and review)

**press sample**
Hi guys! Today I have a special edition of the Substance Abuse Awareness Box to share with you! Rachel's Rainbow Box is a collaboration that includes polishes from nine makers, as well as some extra fun goodies from a few other makers!

You might be wondering who Rachel is, right? She happens to be a beautiful, 20 year old girl, who is going through a major health crisis that in return is causing some extreme financial difficulties within her family.  Rachel is also the niece of the indie community's beloved Stephanie of So Much Goodness. Let's take a look at what is included in each box!

Love is a beautiful red toned pink jelly filled with pink shimmer! Lovely color and the shimmer really appears to glow through the layers. Here I did three thin coats plus topcoat. Depending on your application you may be able to get away with two.

Turtle Tootsie Polish

Hope is a gorgeous bright pink creme! Super opaque and covers completely in two coats plus topcoat. This is really bright, yet sort of has a dusty tone to it at the same time!

Seventy Seven Nail Lacquer

Perseverance an awesome pumpkin orange jelly filled with golden shimmer and orange metallic micro glitters. This had a great formula that was opaque for me in two coats plus topcoat, but depending on application you may need a third. The glitter in this was also sparse enough that it was pretty easy to remove.

Seventy Seven is also including a double ended dotting tool in each box! I mean, who doesn't need a dotting tool, right?! I either destroy mine or lose them, so this will definitely come in handy!

Alter Ego

Joy is a bright yellow jelly! Here I did three thin coats plus topcoat and you can still see my visible nail line pretty well. I'd recommend wearing one layer of it over a creme that's similar in color. With the sheerness of this, it is a perfect candidate for a pond mani though!

Alter Ego will also be including a small bath pouf in each box!

Lifestyle Lacquer

Courage is a beautiful green jelly filled with a gold to green shifting shimmer! Super pretty! This also had a wonderful formula that was opaque in just two coats plus topcoat!

Lifestyle Lacquer will also be including a small baggie of various sized jewel toned, crystal nail studs!

Fancy Gloss

Power is an amazing bright, sparkly blue filled with blue and silver shimmer! So beautiful! This also had a fantastic formula that was opaque in one coat plus topcoat! Depending on application, you may need to add a second!

Parrot Polish

Valor is a gorgeous deep violet creme filled with silvery blue micro shimmer! This is one of those glorious shades that is almost impossible to photograph correctly. I feel my photos come across slightly more blue than it is in real life. Regardless of my photography skills, this formula is amazing! Here I did just one coat plus topcoat! Depending on your application you may need a second.

Parrot Polish will also be including a cute heart shaped, rainbow soap in each box! Each layer has a different scent! It smells divine!

Lyn B Designs

Strength is a beautiful medium purple jelly base filled with purple to gold shifting shimmer, silver holo micro glitter and glitters in various sizes and shades of purple. Here I did three thin coats plus two coats of topcoat! Due to the glitter, this will take a little extra scrubbing to remove.

Rachel's Rainbow Holo Topcoat is beautiful! The particles are nice and small, so you get that really pretty rainbow effect! I chose to show it as one coat over a black base!

Green Goddess Creations

Rainbow Water Decals are the perfect touch to the box! I've used this brand several times in the past and have always been happy with the quality!  (keep scrolling to see one of these in a mani!)

Mandy Luvs Lacquer

Irisdescent shreds are another fun addition to the box! When worn over a lighter base, they sort of appear like glass!

So Much Goodness

Base Coat, Topcoat, Cuticle Oil and Fast Drying Drops are something everyone can use in their mani arsenal and So Much Goodness makes some great ones!

Rachel is a girl like any other girl. She has a beautiful smile and loves life! She was admitted to the hospital on June 14th, 2016 with Sepsis, Endocarditis and Septic Emboli in her lungs from Staph Infection. A long term ICU hospital stay, intense physical therapy and surgeries are just a few of the expenses the family has incurred. Her mother is struggling between being there for her daughter and working as much as possible to cover the costs of everything, but as everyone knows, the health care system in the United States is not cheap. There is a Go Fund Me page set up that is still accepting donations. You can find that link HERE.

I feel for them so much and know exactly what it feels like to have a child in the hospital for a long period of time. My son was in the Neonatal ICU for his first 3 months of life. Leaving them to go to a job is extremely stressful, but necessary to be sure you have the funds to get your child the best care possible.

The Indie Polish community never ceases to amaze me. When someone within our community is in need of help, they rally together and do all they can to help.

You can pre-order the Rachel's Rainbow Box HERE for $65 + shipping from September 9th through September 16th.  Approximately $40 from each box will be donated to Rachel's family.

  6. They will also avoid eye contact - this is one of the tell tale ways of telling if someone is lying. Bear into their eyes like you are trying to figure out their minds -and if they shy away, then you have a safe bet that they are lying through their teeth.liedetector.uk
